PARTICIPATION OF VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS

The Board welcomes participation of voluntary organizations or individuals whoever want to support the Board in whatever capacities they want to support in the infrastructure development of KCH. Participation of voluntary organizations will be further strengthened and KCH is also planning to use the services of volunteers to manage service center (information center) of the KCH.

• Social Action Volunteers (SAV) is currently helping KCH. The major functions of SAV are to maintain a blood bank with cooperation of TUTH and Nepal Red Cross Society. It also organizes blood donation programs in the KCH periodically. SAV also maintains living rooms for PICU & NICU patients’ guardians. In addition, SAV also runs playrooms for the children in the hospital premise.
• The Board will cooperate with the societies formed on the basis of nature of illness within the reach of resources of KCH
• A NGO managed malnutrition rehabilitation center is to start its services within the premise of KCH in the near future.

Our Next Step will be as Following:
1. Form a taskforce in collaboration with TU/IOM and work towards fulfilling the criteria, pre requisites of TU/IOM for obtaining affiliation.
2. Obtain affiliation to function as Institute of Child Health and Start degree courses.
3. Plan to set up a date for re-designation of KCH into ICH/KCH.
4. Revise organizational structure of existing KCH and convert into ICH/KCH organogram.
5. Define roles, responsibilities of each department unit.
6. Delegate responsibilities for development of various components of ICH to several professionals under the direction of the chairman of the KCH/ ICH Boards.
